It is with great sadness that we share the news our dear colleague and friend, Mark Alexander, passed away last Thursday after a short battle with cancer.

Mark was a foundation Partner with Pitcher Partners Private Wealth, joining the firm in 1992 when it was known as Crosbie Warren Sinclair Financial Services, and he remained with our firm for an unbroken 33 years.

Michael Minter, Managing Partner at Pitcher Partners Newcastle and Hunter, said Mark was a wonderful adviser to clients and much-loved by his colleagues.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to Mark’s family” he said.

“Mark was widely known for his generosity, compassion and kindness, and he will be greatly missed by us, his clients and the wider Newcastle community.”

“He left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with at Pitcher Partners and on our firm itself, helping grow our Private Wealth practice into one of the most highly regarded in Australia.”

Mark had the deepest respect from his peers in the financial advice profession.

He was named the Securitor Financial Group’s National Adviser of the Year three times, and he chaired the Financial Planning Association’s Newcastle Chapter for close to eight years until 2023.

Mark was active in the local community, including the Hunter Medical Research Institute, where he chaired the finance subcommittee for eight years.

We are deeply grateful for Mark’s years of dedication to our firm and his profession, his spirit of generosity and invaluable contributions to his colleagues, and the countless lives he touched.
