We currently have a vacancy for a skilled Payroll Officer/Bookkeeper to join our Newcastle team to assist with client and internal work. This newly created position is flexible with the ability to work from client premises, our Newcastle office and from home.

About you:

You will have a high attention to detail, accuracy, and the want to help your peers and clients resolve queries. As an ideal candidate, you will have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in a professional services firm, you will have:

·        Experience using Xero, MYOB and Reckon

·        Extensive previous experience in bookkeeping and payroll

·        Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

·        Excellent attention to detail

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to form solid working relationships.

About the role:

The role requires someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, confident liaising with senior stakeholders and clients, operationally strong and can navigate ambiguity to deliver effective outcomes. Some of the key accountabilities are (but not limited to):

·        Processing accounts payable & bank reconciliations

·        Preparation of month end reports

·        Preparation and processing of client payrolls

·        Assistance with BAS and PAYG

·        Other general bookkeeping, document management and other administrative tasks as required.

This permanent full-time role is predominantly based in our Newcastle office, with some client premise visits. We offer flexible working arrangements to work from home.
