Cookies Policy

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files that may be stored on your computer (or other internet enabled devices, such as a smartphone or tablet) when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, like your country, language and other settings. They can also help make your next visit easier.

Most Internet browsers support cookies; however, users can set their browsers to decline certain types of cookies or specific cookies. Further, users can delete cookies at any time.

Why do we use cookies?

We use cookies and other similar technologies for several purposes as described more fully below, including collecting information about the number of visitors to the website and customer demographics, which is used to improve the customer experience of the website.

Types of cookie

  • ‘Session’ cookies remain in your browser during your browser session only, ie until you leave the website.
  • ‘Persistent’ cookies remain in your browser after the session (unless deleted by you).
  • ‘Performance’ cookies collect information about your use of the website, such as webpages visited and any error messages; they do not collect personally identifiable information, and the information collected is aggregated such that it is anonymous. Performance cookies are used to improve how a website works.
  • ‘Functionality’ cookies allow the website to remember any choices you make about the website (such as changes to text size, customised pages) or enable services such as commenting on a blog.

How are cookies used for advertising purposes?

Cookies and ad technology such as pixels, help to serve relevant ads to you more effectively. Although we do not use cookies to create a profile of your browsing behaviour on third-party sites, we  may use aggregate data from third parties to show you relevant, interest-based advertising. We do not provide any personal information that we collect to advertisers. You can opt out of off-site and third-party-informed advertising by adjusting your cookie settings. Opting out will not remove advertising from the pages you visit, but, instead, opting out will result in the ads you see not being matched to your interests. This implies that the ad(s) you see will not be matched to your interests by those specific cookies.

How are third party cookies used?

For some of the functions within our websites we use third party suppliers, for example, when you visit a page with videos embedded from or links to YouTube. These videos or links (and any other content from third party suppliers) may contain third party cookies, and we encourage you to consult the privacy policies of these third party vendors on their websites for information regarding their use of cookies.

Opting out and disabling cookies?

Most browsers have cookies enabled by default. However if you don’t want to enable cookies, you’ll still be able to browse the site.  If you wish to disable all cookies, you can usually opt-out by setting your browser to remove or reject browser cookies.
To disable specific cookies, you can opt-out using the opt-out mechanisms and links provided in the chart above. You can also delete cookies that have already been set through your browser settings.
Please note that if you choose to disable some categories of cookies that we use, you may experience reduced functionality or be prevented from using the websites altogether.
To learn more on how to disable cookies on your browser, please consult your browser “help” section or go to aboutcookies.org.
