Intermediate Accountant - Accountant – Private Business and Family Advisory – Maitland

Your new role
Due to growth, an opportunity now exists for an Intermediate Accountant in our Private Business and Family Advisory team, located in Maitland.
In this role you will:
- Prepare management reports, financial statements, tax returns and activity statements for individual, company and trust clients.
- Assist with bookkeeping and payroll tasks for a variety of clients.
- Liaise with the ATO on behalf of clients.
- Conduct basic tax research.
- Assist junior staff where required.
About you
The successful candidate for this role will possess the following attributes:
- A minimum of 12 months experience in a public practice environment.
- Commenced a Bachelor of Commerce degree (or similar).
- A solid understanding of basic accounting and taxation/GST concepts.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team where required.
- Attention to detail and good time management and prioritisation skills.
- A strong desire to learn and grow your skills.
Knowledge of Xero accounting and tax software is desirable but not essential.
We also offer the opportunity to work part time during the university semesters (four days) so you can attend university one day per week to assist in progressing your degree.
