Pitcher Partners Newcastle and Hunter’s partner Peter Lawrence has been nominated and appointed as a Director of the Board at Business Hunter and Chair of the Audit and Governance Committee. The new Board was announced at the annual general meeting held on 25th November 2022.
Reflecting on the announcement, Mr Lawrence said he is looking forward to further supporting business in the region.
“I have a strong appreciation for the daily challenges faced in business through my business advisory work,” said Mr Lawrence.
“I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience to help promote and advocate for Business Hunter and businesses in the area,” he continued.
Business Hunter is the largest regional peak business group in Australia, representing members across all business and industry sectors. Mr Lawrence will bring a wealth of experience to the role having worked for the last 19 years supporting small and medium sized business with business advisory and taxation advice.
“My broad industry experience across property, construction, infrastructure, telecommunications, retail, hospitality, and medical provides me with a unique lens to help support businesses in the area.”
The Business Hunter Board guides and oversees the activities of the organisation. Nine board members are drawn from a diverse range of businesses and industries across the region, contributing a wealth of insight and experience. As part of the volunteer role, Mr Lawrence will deliver specialist advice and help ensure governance and accountability of Business Hunter.
The Board will be lead by Lauren Eyles, the second female president for Business Hunter.
Business Hunter is a not-for-profit member organisation dedicated to promoting the interests of business and connecting people in business with what they need to succeed and can trace its beginning back to 1886.
