Home | Shaun Mahony
Shaun specialises in audit and other assurance services for large public and private companies including buy-side and sell-side due diligence, deal advice and a range of business advisory roles including ASX listing for public companies and large turnover private businesses. He works with businesses with turnover between $5 to $100 million providing his clients with peace of mind throughout the provision of a range of financial assurance services.
Shaun’s clients value his data-driven approach and ability to build a rapport and genuinely understand what his clients are looking to achieve now and into the future. Shaun has a collaborative approach when working with businesses. This may mean being on the phone to a business owner or leader to talk through a problem, or it can entail structured audit engagements.
He believes having confidence in the reliability of your business’s financial data is critical, and this is delivered through the audit process and being able to clearly articulate the outcomes to stakeholders. Shaun is focused on ensuring his client’s businesses have the systems and structures in place to clearly report financial data to investors and shareholders.
Whether a large company is looking to buy or sell or identify areas to make improvements, Shaun works closely with his clients to understand their unique goals, ensuring his advice helps them achieve their definition of success.
With a career spanning over 25 years and his breadth of experience working with high turnover enterprises including the hospitality, not-for-profit, manufacturing and mining industries, private health insurance, government and the education sector, Shaun understands the depth of financial reporting and data requirements for these organisations.
A partner with DFK Crosbie since 2016, Shaun commenced his career with Big 4 firms before joining DFK Crosbie in 2015. He remains a Partner of the firm following the merge of DFK Crosbie and Pitcher Partners Newcastle and Hunter to unite under the Pitcher Partners brand in late-2021.
